Deputies: Christian band member busted with child porn | News

Seminole, Florida- Sheriff's investigators arrested a man found in the parking lot of Seminole Middle School Monday accused of having nude images of underage teen on his cell phone.

Pinellas deputies say they arrested 27-year-old Matthew White after school administrators reported a suspicious person in the parking lot. He was found in the middle school parking lot, but facing Seminole High School directly across the street.

When approached by a school resource officer, deputies say White became nervous and provided false information making up a story telling a deputy he was there to pick up his cousin from the school.

After pressing further, deputies say White eventually came clean, even admitting to having nude images of underage girls on his phone.

"That's how deputies found out. He was actually so nervous to the point he came out with that information," said Pinellas County Sheriff's Spokeswoman Cecilia Barreda.

Sheriff's investigators are reviewing the images and so far have identified only one of the underage victims as a 16-year-old female.

White is charged with two-counts sexual performance by a child, lewd and lascivious battery, loitering and prowling and trespassing on school grounds.

Investigators still so not know exactly what White's motives were for hanging out in the school parking lot.

"I would imagine he was looking to target someone. If he liked girls and he's sitting here across from the high school, he's looking for someone who is maybe alone," said parent Michael Teramae. "Its scary, I worry about my kid all the time and to think there are people out there who will do things like that."

10 News has learned White is the drummer in a Christian rock group and has participated in band camps as an instructor at Northside Christian.

He may have also worked as a paramedic in the past.

Pinellas Sheriff's Deputies are investigating what access White had to underage girls. Anyone with information on the case is asked to call the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.
